Our People


Worship and fellowship continued at the Fall 2013 Meeting of the Metro Association.

Ray Howell of the Congregational Church of South Hempstead read scripture from Malachi and   Revelation. Minister Reginald Brantley of the Congregational Church of South Hempstead introduced our worship   preacher. Raven Williams, Minister of Music at our host church, Corona Congregational Church, UCC, led the   choir and congregational singing.

Rev. Dr. Patrick G. Duggan of the Congregational Church of South Hempstead inspired us to advocate   for the wise use of money. Rev. Dr. Henry T. Simmons of St. Albans Congregational Church, UCC, invited us to bring our prayers   to the altar. We clasped hands as we brought forward our prayers.

Rev. Cheri Kroon of Flatbush Reformed Church introduced the morning offering. Voices from the Corona Congregational Church Choir filled the sunlit sanctuary. Rev. Marian Buckman of Mt. Vernon Heights Congregational Church led us in the offertory prayer.

Rec. Cynthia Jackson, Metro Moderator, opened the business meeting which followed worship. Rev. Duggan noted that brief presentations would precede lunch. Melva Victorino and Phyllis Byrd welcomed us to learn more about the Global Ministries of the UCC and   Disciples of Christ.
